What was measured

Two numbers, one source. The charts show the curve schematically, with no extra values.

Measured on the soaked bandage: 5.8 °C cooler skin.¹

Measured on the inner forearm, contactless by infrared, against the skin’s baseline before application.

Before With soaked bandage Warmer Cooler Schematic illustration

Why it matters

Cools like sweat: by evaporation. No ice, no power.

Still cooling after two hours.¹

Seven measuring points over 120 minutes. The skin stayed cooler than before for the whole measurement.

Baseline Cooler than before After two hours: still cooling 0306090120 min Skin temperature Schematic illustration

What that means for you

Apply generously, onto fabric. The soaked bandage is what was measured; a light mist on a shirt wears off sooner. When it warms up, just spray again.

The bandage is soaked generously with Liquid Ice and applied.

  3. Seven measuring points

    Measured after 5, 10, 20, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes, on all 20 subjects.

Questions about the proof

Want to know more? Write to us: hello@liquidice.com

Who did the measuring?

Dermatest GmbH in Münster, an independent testing institute: 20 subjects, contactless infrared measurement on the inner forearm, 120 minutes.

What exactly was measured?

Skin temperature on the inner forearm, applied with the soaked bandage, compared with the baseline before application. Measured: 5.8 °C cooler skin. Still cooling after two hours.

Does that apply when I spray it on a shirt?

The soaked bandage is what was measured. Sprayed onto a shirt, the same liquid cools the same way, by evaporation. How long depends on how generously you spray: a light mist wears off sooner, and you can spray again any time.

What about the skin?

The Dermatest test showed no unwanted skin reactions. Still: best on fabric, don’t spray large areas of bare skin, and avoid contact with eyes.

Who uses Liquid Ice?

Olympic teams from ten nations in Athens, the Leopard-Trek cycling team at the Tour de France, three-time Le Mans winner Marcel Fässler, the US Marines in a field test (9.1 out of 10 for ease of use), a Lamborghini Super Trofeo team and many people who work or train in the heat. Shipped to 20+ countries.
