The Liquid Ice Self Cooling Bandage can with a rolled bandage

For use in your practice, clinic or team

Cooling and compression in one bandage.

Every patient gets a fresh bandage, so there is nothing to disinfect between patients. No freezer, no machine, and after two hours it is still cooling.

Sorted by specialty. We send you the studies and the case report on request.

PracticesRandomised against the cold pack

2.6 cmin three days, 1.5 cm with cold packs

In a randomised clinical study in Regensburg, Germany, swelling went down 2.6 cm in three days with bandages soaked in Liquid Ice. With cold packs it was 1.5 cm. Pain dropped faster and further. A doctor’s practice in a ski area, one of our biggest customers, uses Liquid Ice in aftercare after ski injuries.

The same practice has worked with Liquid Ice for over 15 years and reorders every season.

Trauma surgery and the ORBefore surgery

Surgery often has to wait days for the swelling to go down.

The soaked bandage from the can brings cooling and compression together and goes on once.

A trauma unit in Regensburg cooled fresh fractures and torn ligaments with Liquid Ice until surgery, randomised against ice and cold packs. Swelling went down 2.6 cm in three days, against 1.5 cm with ice and cold packs. That can get your patients to surgery sooner.

Cooling compared

Liquid Ice puts cooling and compression into one bandage with no unit and no hose: soak it in the can, wring it out, wrap it on, and the patient keeps moving. Right at the sideline, too. Crushed ice and ice boxes cool but don’t compress. Cooling machines with a hose can do both, through a cuff on a unit that stands on the floor or a table during treatment.

Cooling and compression your patients can move in.

Wrap it on and keep moving. No machine, no hose, no ice water. The next patient needs one more bandage.

Categories, not brands: compared by the published instructions of typical products in each category (October 2026), on equipment, preparation and use, not on how cold or how long. Details vary by model; sources on request at hello@liquidice.com. Many cooling machines set cold and pressure precisely, and ice is colder than Liquid Ice. Liquid Ice is for the patient who keeps moving and for every place without a unit.

Questions from practices and teams

Rather talk directly? +43 670 601 86 01 · hello@liquidice.com

What does Liquid Ice cost per patient?

That depends on how many patients you cool each month. We work it out exactly with you on the call after the test. First you get samples to look at; testing runs as a paid pilot package.

Which format suits a practice or team?

For practices and teams: the Self Cooling Bandage (can with 360 ml and a bandage, 4 m stretched) or the pre-soaked Active Ice Bandage. For companies there are canisters of 25 litres.

What about hygiene?

A fresh bandage for every patient. On a ward we recommend one can per patient or the Active Ice Bandage in its single pouch. Spare bandages for practices are available on request.

Does Liquid Ice need to be kept cold?

No. Liquid Ice cools by evaporation, not by stored cold. Store it at room temperature and keep it tightly closed.

How is it applied?

Spray it generously onto a tight shirt, jersey or wristband, or soak the bandage in the can and wrap it on. Don’t spray large areas of bare skin, and keep it away from your eyes.

Can the bandage be covered?

No. The bandage cools because the liquid evaporates. Don’t cover it, don’t tape over it, never under a cast or film.

What kind of product is Liquid Ice?

A cosmetic product, not a medical device. Liquid Ice cools the skin by evaporation, on intact skin. You decide how it is used in your practice.

What was measured?

Measured on the soaked bandage: 5.8 °C cooler skin. Still cooling after two hours. Dermatest GmbH, Münster · 20 subjects · measured on the soaked bandage. See the protocol

How fast is delivery?

Ships from Klosterneuburg in 1–2 working days. Arrives in 2–4 working days in Austria and Germany, 2–7 in the rest of the EU.
