The Self Cooling Bandage around the elbow and forearm, the can of Liquid Ice beside it

Measured, not claimed.

Measured on the soaked bandage: 5.8 °C cooler skin. Still cooling after two hours.

What the lab measured, over two hours

  1. After 5 minutes: in all 20 people, the skin under the bandage was cooler than at the start.
  2. After 60 minutes: skin 5.8 °C cooler on average, the largest drop measured.
  3. After 120 minutes: in all 20, the skin was still cooler than at the start.

How it works

  1. Soak

    Soak

Soak the bandage thoroughly in the can.

  2. Wring out

    Wring out

Wring it out over the can so the leftover Liquid Ice runs back in. The bandage should be moist, not dripping wet.

  3. Wrap

    Wrap

Wrap it tightly in a spiral from bottom to top, slightly overlapping. Tuck the end in firmly at the top so the bandage holds. Still cooling after two hours.

What exactly did Dermatest measure?

The skin temperature under the soaked bandage, by infrared, in 20 people over two hours, against each person’s own starting temperature: 5.8 °C cooler skin, and in all 20 people the skin was still cooler after two hours than at the start. Dermatest GmbH, Münster, 2008.

Can I re-use it?

Re-use: roll up the dry bandage, dip it in the can, wring it out, wrap it on again.

Can I wear clothes over it?

Leave it uncovered. It cools by evaporation and needs air, so never cover or tape over it.

Where do you ship, and how fast?

To Austria, Germany and the rest of the EU. It arrives in 2–4 working days in Austria and Germany, 2–7 elsewhere in the EU. Free shipping from €80 (AT), €99.90 (DE), €79 (EU).
